Instructions for submitting abstracts for oral/poster presentation

 

 

This Congress accepts submissions only through the online submission facility. 

 

Please read these instructions carefully and press the link below to submit your abstract. 

 

  • Abstracts must be in English.

 

  • Make sure that the abstract you submit is correct. DO NOT phone, write or re- submit the same abstract with modifications. Submit each abstract once only and do so by the deadline.

 

  • "Salami-cutting” of research is NOT encouraged. Abstracts must be original and unpublished. 

 

  • Abstracts must be submitted by midnight of Monday, 30 April 2012.

 

  • Abstracts will be reviewed for acceptance by the Scientific Committee. Authors will be informed of the decision of the Committee by end of May 2012.

 

  • The presenting author must be registered to the congress by Saturday, 30 June 2012.

 

  • By submitting an abstract the author allows its publication in the abstract book/congress proceedings.

 

  • The abstract can either be accepted as oral or poster presentation.

 

  • All authors must ensure that work carried out has approval from the Local or National Research Ethics Committee as appropriate. Any potential conflict of interest shall be disclosed to the audience on abstract presentation.

 

 

 

 

 

Instructions for electronic submission

 

 

  • Title/Topic : Use capitals followed by lower case : e.g. Prevalence Of Frailty In Nonagenarians

 

  • Please skip the field Introduction and add the Introduction text together with Methods, Results and Conclusion in the body of the abstract in step 4.
  • Authors : Use capitals followed by lower case for Name and Surname : e.g. Janssen Jan

 

  • Abstract : 
  1. Type your abstract into the main text field, or copy and paste it from your Word Processed document.
  2. Structure your abstract according to the following headings : Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion with a blank line between.
  3. No graphs, figures, tables or unusual symbols can be included. 
  4. Content : the abstract must include sufficient information (e.g. numerical and statistical data) to allow its evaluation by the Scientific Committee to enable it to stand as a published abstract. Expressions such as “data will be presented” or “findings will be discussed” are not acceptable and will result in automatic rejection of the abstract. The onus is on the author to check spelling, grammar and format of the abstract.
  5. Abbreviations : must be defined by being placed in parentheses immediately after the full word or phrase has been typed for the first time.
  6. Non-proprietary- (generic) names must be used for all drugs. 
  7. Word limit is 250 words for the body of the abstract.

  • Once you have correctly completed all the steps, the number assigned to your paper will show up on the screen. Please, keep this number for future references. Any notice or correspondence regarding abstracts will be sent to the email address provided on submission. Make sure this email address is correct and use always the same email address.
